Like previous events, this year’s half marathon (21km) and 10km courses started and finished in UNIS school, located in the confines of Ciputra International City, Hanoi. The 10km takes in a section of Tay Ho lake (Westlake) before returning to Ciputra, while the 21km continues around the entire lake. The 5km walking event will take place entirely on Ciputra’s private roads and the kids fun run will be held on the school sports fields.
Large sections of the 21km and 10km routes are on open roads with traffic and associated hazards. We will have volunteers and water stops at key points on the route, but you run at your own risk.
Details of the half marathon route.
Here’s the 5km walk / jog route which takes place entirely in Ciputra:
All details and race information will be clarified at the Race Briefing on Saturday 10th December. Final confirmation of the Race Briefing will be emailed and posted here during the week before the event.
After the races and prize-giving, brunch and drinks will be served at the nearby JAFA bar and restaurant. We recommend purchasing your Meal Tickets at the race briefing to ensure you don’t miss out on your post-run feast.

Staging this unique event would not be possible without the support of Ciputra Hanoi International City and our other sponsors:

Hi RRR!
For the Half Marathon, could you let me know about how many participants do you expect this year? And what were the turn outs in the previous years?
Thank you
JUN
Thank you Sune,
I’ve signed up already. Coming up from Saigon just for this! And it’s the very first half marathon of my life. Hope I can complete it within 3 hours
could you please tell me what time the races start on sunday morning as we may not be able to attend race briefing on Sat.
Thanks
Hi Des – we are just confirming the final race details for Sunday. You will receive an email very soon confirming exact morning race times. You will need to attend the race briefing for important safety notices and also to get your race number and timing chip (for which a deposit is required).
Hi, could you tell me when the race briefing is given to the runners on Saturday? And how much is the Meal Ticket? May I understand this post-run feast will be for a kind of brunch?
Hi Shikokuman! Race briefing will be at 4pm on Saturday at UNIS – you will receive an email with all the weekend’s details very soon. Meal tickets for the post-race brunch will be on sale on Saturday. This is organised by the venue, JAFA Restaurant and Bar – please call them on +84 (0)4 37582400 for details.
I have completed the half marathon this morning. Where I can read the speed and time?
We will be posting the results and times today (Tuesday). Thanks!
Hi RRR, I’m interested in the Half marathon this December. Wonder if the race will be on 9th Dec or 16th Dec. Since I have to book ticket early, really appreciate your reply soon. Thanks a lot!!!
Hi there. The half marathon for 2012 has not been confirmed yet unfortunately. We usually start planning this event in September. The event will definately not be on the 16th December, so the 9th is most likely. But I do not advise that you book flights unless you get refundable tickets until the event is confirmed (anything can happen in Hanoi!)
Thanks for your advice! I’ll take consideration on that. Can’t wait til the event takes place!
